Hi,
What do I need to make my own themes and icons? I already have open SSH and tunnel suite, but that only lets me copy already made icons and use them, I want to add my own too.

Thanks,

Laina

Is there any others because photoshop is so expensive, and I really can't afford it, but I want to be able to make my own icons and have been researching and downloading others but not having any luck.

Thanks.

I've searched before and couldn't find anything so I just used Photoshop.

I think that might be one of your only options.
Sorry.

You might try gimp, it's similar to photoshop and free.

Hi,
Thanks again. I have a question about this though. How do I use a picture and make it free standing, most pictures that I copy in have a background and I can't figure out how to get it out. Do you know how to do that? I am really knew at this, and really want to do it right.

Thanks again.

Photoshop Elements is pretty good and easier to use than full-blown Photoshop. The newest version (PSE7) $50 right now at Costco.com. But you might be able to find an older version that is cheaper. Also if you're a full-time student maybe look into the academic discounts for Adobe products.

Also you could d/l a 30 day trial of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements from Adobe if you want to play around.

I copy pictures from the web, and edit them in windows picture editor. I shrink them down to 59x59 pixels, and rename them for the app I want them to open ex.....Phone.png You have to add.png for the app to work. I made cool "The Prisoner" (1967) icons, if you want, I can post them.

Thanks. You might want to try Gimp too, I did after I was told about it, and if you want to manipulate the pictures to edit background, etc. it is great, and super easy to use.

Thanks Laina609. I checked out Gimp, and it looked pretty good. I have VWallpaper, but what I really think would be cool, is animated Icons. Maybe about 1 or 1/2 second of motion for all the icons on the first springboard.
