all contacts gone - help!

I have a JB and unlocked 2.1 iPhone gen1. Just now all my contacts vanished, and shows "No Contacts". Anyone experienced this?

I have recently installed MySMS - could this be a cause? Had MobileMe before, but stopped paying some months back - could this be why? Any way to get them back?

Did you sync your phone with a different PC?

no, did not... hm.

just renewed my Mobile Me subscription. See if that helps. But Contacts seem to be "Unavailable" on www.me.com, so might be some global issue?
