Anyone else having a problem with their iphone 3G after 2.2 upgrade? After upgrade the sound for all of my game apps no longer plays, and the keyboard clicks don't work.
Apple suggested removing all apps and restarting, but this didn't work. I'd welcome any suggestions, but for now this is like a bad MS Windows problem nightmare. Apple really dropped the ball on this one.
Have you tried doing a Reset All Settings (Settings->General->Reset->Reset All Settings)?

Open your iPod and verify that you can still play music through the bottom speaker. If you can, launch a game and when it is fully up, push the volume button to increase the volume. It should display on the screen and show the volume either increasing, or already maxed out. If it says ringer underneath, you didn't wait till the game fully loaded, and you are just changing the ringer volume.
If you cannot play music through the bottom speaker, then connect your headphones and see if they work for both the iPod and any games/apps. if it does, go into iPod, play and then stop/pause it, exit the iPod app and unplug the headphones. Test again as I first described.
There is a "bug" in the iPhone that has a small problem if switching between headphones mode and speaker mode. It's generally rare to happen, but if it does, playing music, then stopping, exiting and then unplugging generally works to fix it.

I'm sitting here using Vista and turned the volume up and down and it worked. How is this sound problem in anyway related to Microsoft?
The keyboard clicks seems to be an easy one to resolve. Change the sound settings for the keyboard clicks to on/off (whatever you want), but you will notice it doesn't work. Reboot the phone and it should fix the problem. Seems to be a weird bug that should have been checked before 2.2 went live.
Are you getting any sound from your phone? Ring tone, alarm etc?

I guess people missed that:(1) this is an iphone 3G problem and not an ipod problem; or (2) that I have already tried all the normal fixes, i.e. resettting, adjusting settings, etc.
I have all normal phone functions except keyboard & keypad click/sound, and no sound for games or apps. Music plays as normal, video as normal, ringtones normal, etc....
I am trying to avoid having to restore and wipe all my contact and other data, but so far nothing is working. This bug is reported by several others at MacWorld forum, but so far no fixes reported.
Apple tech support has been advised, but so far no news.
With regard to the inquiry as to how this is related to MS Windows, that was irony given MS track record with bugs, patches, crashes and general unstability. But I guess that was lost in translation.
