Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I am trying to sync my iphone 3g contacts with mobile me and/or the address book on my Mac mini.

I suspect part of the issue is that I use itunes on my Vista Laptop as my iphone itunes.

However, I thought that Mobile Me would allow me to "sync" my contacts from my phone to Mobile Me. This would then allow me to "sync" them with my Mac Mini.

I have no contact sync set in itunes and when I look at the choices (yahoo, outlook, windows, or google) there is not one for mobile me.

Also, when you check the Mobile Me Preferences on the Vista laptop, the same choices exist for Contacts (yahoo, windows, google, outlook).

How do I sync the contacts that are on the iphone to mobile me?

Thanks

You need to enable contacts sync on the iPhone under your MobileMe account. Go to your MobileMe account under Settings/Mail, Contacts & Calendars...then ensure contacts are "ON". Should work.

You are right. Contacts are off. However, when I select on, it gives me a warning that all contacts on the phone will be erased and replaced with my Mobile Me contacts ( I have no MM contacts).
Is there no option to "merge" the contacts?
I need to move the contacts from the phone to Mobile Me.

Unfortunately, there isn't. When you turn contacts on, it will erase all contacts on the iPhone and replace them with whatever is in the cloud. If you turn contacts off, it will erase all contacts that are being synced from the cloud.

Well that makes mo sense! Especially when trying to lure customers from other carriers and/or getting customers to use me.com. Guess my cloud will be empty until Apple wises up and thinks things all the way through.
