I went into the Apple Store today to HOPEFULLY get my iPhone exchanged but was turned down because supposedly the damage caused by the iPhone dock was my fault. I'm real pissed that I gotta shell 200.00 for a replacement. All well, anyways I felt really stupid to walk in with a jailbroken iPhone so I clicked that delete all media and w.e and It was deleting my stuff while the genius had it. The guy was seemed to know less than me! He thought I set my iPhone to restore but then disconected it from the dock leaving the phone bricked. Hahah HE DIDNT EVEN KNOW THERE WAS A LITTLE PART WHERE U CAN DELETE EVERYTHING OFF THE PHONE WITHOUT A COMPUTER. VERY SAD!

Anyways I want to stop this jailbreaking crap, so is there any way I can use some program to activate my iPhone and bypass the iTunes one? I am under AT&T but Im using prepaid, so activation never goes through when I connect my phone.

For the mean time ima jailbreak it till hopefully you guys can help me with my dilema.:angry::angry::angry:

I believe there's no way around having to jailbreak. You don't have to install Cydia or Installer, but you'll have to jailbreak to bypass the activation screen.

How do I jailbreak without installing cydia???
Do I just run quickpwn and let it do its magic
and thaths it?

I think you need PwnageTool and you need to go into expert mode and there you choose what you want and don't want.

All you gotta do bro is just not click the options to install Cydia and Installer :wink:

But then that just does nothing to my fone, ill install fiermware that was never tampered with.

All you have to do is uncheck Cydia and Installer. The jailbreak will still occur, but you just won't have those two apps when you are done.

I realize that but in post 7 the OP sounds like he thinks that if he doesn't install Cydia or Installer then he will install a non-jailbroken FW...or at least that's how I read it. I was just emphasizing that if you uncheck Cydia and Installer you will still install jailbroken FW. :)
