2.1 keyboard problems

I have a 2.1 on my 2G iphone and everything works well except customiz(i dont care about it though) and my keyboard layout. See, when i press that little globe button to change the layout into russian, it doesnt do anything. although the space and enter buttons turn into russian. but the letters remain english and it types english as well. I noticed that when I had just installed the 2.1 the keyboard worked fine. but after adding some apps from cydia it died. Im guessing one of the programs is conflicting with it. Anyone has any idea what it might be?

Why don't you give us a list of what you have installed from the cydia "manage" page?

I know there are some programs that do same thing that others do, but I got them to see which ones are more convinient and worth keeping

The only thing I can suggest is going through your own list and uninstall and reinstall the apps one by one and see if you can find the problem. I just noticed that my I and S keys do not have the magnification pop up when I push them. Weird. I'm on 2.2.

its funny you should that, i'm having the magnification problem as well, also i'm having snags with the space bar button, its getting on my nerves a bit now to be honest- it may be a problem with the actual phone so i'm gunna restore first and see if it becomes nice responsive like it use to be!

I dont think its the phone. If you quit and then go back to what your doing it should go away. Mine was doing it in safari and sms once i quit and the restart it wouldnt be there but it has come back randomly.

i've tried all that, it seems it happens anytime i come to write anything in, its no where near as responsive as it should be. admittedly i havent tried it in landscape mode.

but do you think it warrants me taking into the shop to be looked at by a genius?

Ok, I have just found out that its not only the russian setup that doesnt work. all of my international layouts dont work. even if I turn off the English keyboard and leave another language, its still keeps the english letters. only the space and return buttons change to the corresponding language. Ive uninstalled most of the programs on the list, still, nothing. I can do a restore, but Im just really curious what could make this problem come up
