Official 3G, 2.2, battery life thread

Here goes...got my iPhone 3G last Tuesday. Restored to 2.1. Jailbroke it. Used Gevey to unlock and I was in business.

Hated the lag while posting on forums such as this. Hated the battery life. (Almost depleted at a rate 2x as fast as my old 1st gen)

Did the update to 2.2 safely using the new Pwnage tool. After 2 full charge/usage cycles, take a nice look at that battery life. This was just taken a few mins ago.

As you can see, I've done a nice share of talking. Not too much EDGE usage but I did do A LOT of wifi surfing (more than 2 hours consecutively) yesterday. Most while simultaneously chatting away on the phone

All I have to say is my battery life doubled. There was no way I would have pulled this off last week.

Those of you on the fence wondering if battery life is an issue with a jailbroken 2.2 iPhone...need not worry. It is safe to update

STATS:

Wifi on 85% of the time
Location off
Fetch off
Brightness about 40% (Auto off)
Bluetooth off for this full charge cycle

If you have battery life info and pics you'd like to share, please do so. I'd like to see what other people are getting whether you're jailbroken or not

Im on a non jailbroke 3g full brightness push location services bluetooth alarm clock all on. I get way better battery life now after 2.2. I dont know what they did but i like it!

Nice battery life guys! When i had my 3G (FW 2.1), I would be lucky to have it last more than 3 1/2 hours

You said when you had your 3G...uhh ohh what happened Sik? What's your story behind your old iPhone??

As for me, I just took my phone off the charger. I reset the timings again for a more accurate guage of the battery life using 2.2.

Moderate Edge usage (Email and Safari...howardforums, icafe etc)
Autobrightness on this cycle bar is around 40%

That is about what I get for usage as well. But that last 1/4 goes quick!!

after 2.2 update my battery life is horrible

Really it's like night and day for me. After 2.2 I get way better battery life now I can get almost a half a day 7-2 almost 7hours.
