Outside scree new text message

Hey guys. IDK if this is just because of 2.2, but before when my screen was locked (and because I had the passcode and such on) it would just say "new text message received" when I received a new text. Now it says "new text message" and the contacts name of who sent it. I dont recall changing anything to make it say this. Is there any way to not display the contact? I am just curious. Thanks for any help

Im looking for the same thing i think it is bc of 2.2. I dont want it to say the name i just want it to say new text message.

It is indeed because of 2.2. I was doing some snooping around and I came across this article which kind of explained it:

Looks like its something we will have to live with. I think I liked the old way a little bit better though.

This was the way it was before 2.1. I like it this way, bc now people cant read my messages when i have it locked. I dont think it really matters if someone see's my friend "Cameron" or "Brittany" sent me a text. I hated it the old way. when 2.0 released it was this way (2.0-2.0.2) then 2.1 and it wouldnt display the name anymore.
