Hi Folks!Well version 2.2 is out....with that being stated, I am trying to update the phone via iTunes and it is taking FOREVER! When I started the update, I followed the download/install and it is still hooked up (15 min so far)...update is greyed out and the phone is a black screen. How long should I wait? Thanks in advance! I am at the frustrated stage and am afraid something is wrong.Phone is 8gb 3G and has never been jailbroken...3 weeks old.So how long should this update take?Regards,

Not much longer...mine took about 20 minutes. I'm typing this about an hour after you posted, so if it's still going, then something is likely wrong. Did it go OK?

Is it taking forever on backing up?
I wouldn't worry about it then, because 2.1 took a long time for me to update.

Jeffois,Update went well....For those of you interested or stumbling upon this in a search....1. Connected the iPhone and had iTunes running.2. Went to summary page and checked for updates.3. Clicked on download and install.4. Took forever....after 15 min I disconnected the phone but saw that the software was still downloading....5. Download completed after 26 min. (probably based on connection speed and the fact many folks are downloading the update)6. Reconnected the iPhone and the "Update" box in the summary page was now not greyed out as it was during downloading.7. Performed update....this took about 10 minutes.I knew it was updating because the progress bar in iTunes showed the little boxes (showing progress of update) and the iPhone showed an apple symbol with a little bar below it that gradually got filled up (again a progress bar).Phone is working fine after the update!

Glad to hear it ended well. Mine took about 15 minutes and I had to reboot (PC) to get iTunes to recognize my iPhone.

Yeah it certainly did go well on the install....Like I mentioned previously, it appears as though everyone was DLing the update when I tried.

PS....Jeffois...Sox fan by birth! Love them to death! I was at game 3 of the World Series last year up at Coors Field...what an awesome stadium!

Updated iTunes software first. iPhone backed itself up and then I updated the phone software it took only 15 minutes. I think the time you start is important. Early in the morning is a good time it seems I just finished a minute ago and i started at 6:30am and its 7:00am EST

I'm a Yankee fan, obviously. I was lucky enough to see Coors when they hosted the All-Star game. Really is a terrific place. Someday, I need to see Fenway...

Won't update to it as long as Gevey-3G turbo sim isn't going to work on it.
