3G Rollouts

Has anyone else noticed recently they now have 3G where they never had it before? I had to drive this morning for a few hours and there were at least 3 distinct spots where I've never had 3G before and this morning I had it and it was indeed 3G.

We just got it in (some parts of) Iowa a week or so ago. :laugh2:

Yes! I have been noticing 3G service in my town, which has only had EDGE before, and isn't listed on coverage maps as having it. I have also noticed it in the areas surrounding my town, which is pretty exciting for me. Right now though, the service is a little choppy, going from 3G to EDGE without me moving, but when the 3G works, it's great. I have also noticed that I get phone service in areas I never used to get a signal in.

I was thinking that the new 3G is in a beta stage right now, and they don't want to announce anything before it's ready. Anyone else have some ideas?
