I don't know if I would stand in line again. For the 3G, my store had a 9 hour line. I am cool waiting a week or so to pick up a new 3rd Iteration of the iPhone when the frenzy dies down and there are no lines and stock is available.

Yes, but I will dread the long lines and the ridiculous wait. It also depends on the calendar. If we're taking February, then I'm not so sure. Pretty cold here in NY in February.

I just got the 3g at the end of Sept. I don't even want to think of the next iteration yet because I will get it and I will have to pay full price for it!

never do it again. i'll wait till a week or two later this time because last time after 9 hours of waiting, i went home empty handed due to at&t thinking i had a cooperate account.... I didn't and the CSR I called that day couldn't figure it out either, but the system thought I did have it....

Oddly enough, I go into my local apple store two weeks after the release and try it again and it worked?????

AT&T has the exclusivity contract with apple until the end of 2009. If AT&T is smart they will renew the contract.

As for iday LOL let's hope it's not another ifail. And I will be like the rest of the smart people and wait the 3-4 days after to get the device. I have no issue waiting for the next shipment of stock bc then I can get what I want and not look like a tool just to be among the first to get something.

Ppl are speculating that it's going to be a different design. I pretty much think it's going to be thinner, slightly longer and wider screen, updated battery capacity and better more powerfull inards. The design? It's fine, candybar shape has no moving parts which = less to break.

The next iPhone will have to be such a different phone from the current version for me to shell out hundreds more dollars. Depends what it comes with. Otherwise, I'm fine with my current one. Perhaps a better/faster processor would convince me to upgrade.

No more lines for me with Apple or iphone. After 2 iphones I thought they would have improved to as least the basics. I am pretty much done with it. I don't know if I would switch, nothing has caught my attention in the last 2 years until the Storm. But I am not falling for the Apple hype anymore. It would totally take a hell of a lot of phone improvements not hype.

well, 6 months ago i was thinking i'd be waiting in line for iDay2... and then we learned that iphone2 wasn't anything special... and it cracks... and the screen is yellow... and the buttons fall off.

So NO, i will not be waiting in line. If i purchase one, it will be a little while AFTER iDay3 to let other people be guinea pigs. But i won't be switching to a blackberry (or any other existing smartphone). My v1 is chuggin along just fine, and i expect it to be next year as well.

it did suck, its sucked bad... as it was raining and i was at an outdoor mall and then once i got into the apple store, there was not AC and the servers went down (added to wait time).

I almost did think of just sticking with my v1, but I needed the 3G for my job as I have to check my email often and EDGE just wasn't cutting it.
