It's easy. Your movie's format must be *.mp4 or *.m4v. For example:
You have "die hard 4 trailer.mp4".
-Right click
-Open with--->
-iTunes
-wait and drag to your ipod touch
----------------or------------------
-open iTunes
-click Files
-Add File To Library
*Set location*
Then wait..........
drag to your ipod touch
Merry Christmas

Also you were asking what gen your iPod Touch is? If it has volume buttons on the side, it is a 2nd gen iPod Touch. If it doesn't, it is a 1st gen.
