So My computer that had my life on it two weeks ago blew its hardrive. I just lost all my music, all my pictures, all my bookmarks, all my videos and files.

Coincidentally...ive lost all my backups and stuff along with itunes and the HD itself.

I havent synced in about 2 weeks now, or made a backup (havent been able to)

Im going out to go buy a new HD and pretty much start from scratch. My question is since i am jailbroken, and it'll be like installing itunes on a new computer, i wont have a backup to restore too should i need to take it to Apple.

Also im afraid of connecting it to the itunes im going to install on the new Harddrive since it may erase all my contacts, music, files etc.

What can i do!?

im sure u can save your music but im not sure about the other stuff
you should have synced your contacts to yahoo so you wouldnt have to worry about it

google "get music off iphone" or something to find some programs

you'll need a third party app to transfer your media from iphone to your new hard drive.

although iTunes will transfer your contacts just fine. When you sync for the first time, iTunes will ask if you want to "merge" your data. This is what will do it.

won't have any effect on your jailbreak situation.

If your contacts sync through google directly, then you don't have to worry about them not syncing, i guess. That being said, it wouldn't hurt to sync them to your computer anyway. redundancy is good.
