My favorite vehicle was my '74 Ford bronco. Removable hardtop and doors, dual gas tanks, I had a roll bar, 3" lift, and straight pipe bullet pack mufflers.
This is kind of what mine looked like, except where it's white, mine was black.

Very nice V12 twin turbo it is a sleeper this car will smoke every 4 door on the market. If you have the speed ch check out supercars exposed. The dude tanner foust drives (rips up) supercars. He drove a brand new Mercedes-AMG V12 BiTurbo (cls i think) took it to the track and somked everything at the track. Took it back to Mercedes and it needed 4 new tires.

Yea, When I first saw that it was coming out and the times and the prices of the car I was amazed.
I was talking with one of my friends and he said that if you use the "launch control" to get the best possible launch, it voids the warranty. he also told me that the computer in the car also knows if you have been to a race track (don't know how it knows) that also voids the warranty. If this is truly unfortunate cause I think the car is spectacular.

For anyone interested:
"The singular thing people need to remember is that using launch control does not void the warranty - The warranty clause regarding the operation of the vehicle with VDC turned off states that Nissan will not cover damage or failures of otherwise covered components, IF it can be determined that the use of launch control led or contributed to the failure. The act of using launch control (which requires turning off the VDC) will not automatically void the vehicle warranty. Simply put, the warranty outlines that failures or damage resulting from things such as misuse, accidents, non-factory modifications, etc. are not covered under the factory warranty.

Further, the warranty states that VDC should only be turned off to help when rocking the vehicle when stuck in mud or snow.

Nissan will not void the entire warranty on any of our cars based on one specific issue of one specific component or system, however, a part or system won’t be covered under warranty if Nissan determines that the failure was as a result of misuse, modifications, etc. (as mentioned above)."

Anyone who knows more feel free to correct me. When pushed, the computer uses its noggin to get the best possible launch in different conditions. This car is a genius.

This is true, when launch control is engaged, you floor it and when you hit a certain RPM (usually around 4K), the car drops the clutch and your off with the car controlling the throttle so you get the most traction, which equals faster times. And when your car is packing serious HP, traction becomes a problem when launching...isnt that right Matt?

Saverino
11-19-2008, 10:48 PM
Sik, I would say traction issues are more likely in cars with high torque, rather than high horsepower.

Also, what do you mean?:

True, but Godzilla aint no pansy in the TQ department

I've read cases online (over at sixspeedonline.com) where Godzilla's engine crapped out, leaving the owner having to foot the bill for a new one since Nissan's warranty wont cover it. Same goes for the tranny

those two can't be compared.

The SL is a huge coupe/convertible, based more on the S-Class, rather than the C-Class (the 3 series are the size of a C-Class)

the comparison would probably be between an SLK and an M3

Well, I guess so. I'm not a huge car fanatic, so honestly don't know much about 'em other than how to drive them.
My friend in High School introduced me to his Dad, who worked on the production race team for the GT40's. Actually had a book that talked about him in it concerning the GT40 and what was done, what the goal was, and how it basically surpassed expectations by a LONG shot. (including this interesting little story about how the VP arrived at the unveiling, and a security dog peed through the window on his wife, and Neil's dad ended up with the car because the VP's wife refused to ride in it anymore.) Neil's Dad said that the car cornered like it was being held to the ground, even at really high speeds)
I normally like sitting up high ( I drive a 2001 Pathfinder LE) but this particular car...."calls to me".
If I had a choice to own my "Dream Car", this would be it.

(I'm referring to the new, production Ford GT, not the original race car with this) Have you driven one? They're awesome cars. My friend's dad used to own one and that thing was a beast to drive. It is NOT very forgiving at all and the ride is downright rough, but that's to be expected. The seats on the production models are also pretty uncomfortable. However, it is still an awesome car.

Indy, you have good taste too. The Defender is a huge vehicle. My mechanic's wife has one and she looks absolutely tiny in it. Talk about an all-terrain.

My dream cars change pretty frequently. I've always wanted a Lamborghini and it will come in time. I'm thinking a Range Rover Sport for graduation. I'm really wanting an SUV for some reason.

Well, Having any vehicle that has the cargo and seating capacity of most SUV's is just easier tohandle what you need it for -depending on your lifestyle.
I've owned a 74 Ford Bronco (as mentioned earlier in the thread), 87 Pathfinder 2 door (great truck, bad wreck), 86 Jeef Wagoneer, a 94 Cherokee Country, and now my 2001 Pathfinder LE- fully loaded.
It's a nice smooth ride, it handles all my paintball equipment, all my wife's lighting and film equipment, more than half of my roommates belongings... It's too multi purpose for my life. Sports cars and sedans you can carry 2-5 people, and have some truck space. The only advantage is gas mileage. But with gas prices as they are right now, it's not a huge worry anymore.

This is exactly how I feel. I've owned small cars so far and I'm thinking it's time for a change. Optimally I'm going to keep my current car and have the RR as well. Doing so will take care of me if gas does skyrocket again. You have a good eye for cars then. I don't dislike the new M3 coupe, I just think they could easily have been more aggressive. The front is sick but I think the back end lacks quite a bit. It looks way too much like the e92 335i. I'll most likely wait until I'm 25 (for the insurance to go down) before getting into an actual sports car and by then I'm sure the M3 will have some sick kits and such.

I LOVE the new M3! Actually I love all beamers.

As for the double R, let's not confuse that with the original RR, Rolls Royce. I think the Range Rover Sport with at least 20s is awesome! If you don't either the factory 20s or aftermarket, I think on such a big nice SUV you need to represent the the big tires with big wheel IMHO. A kid on campus as one with gunmetal 20s with a chrome lip of about 2 inches and it looks amazing.

Yeah, sorry if I caused any confusion. My laziness caught up with me on that one. I really do love BMW and their cars but I just feel as if they missed the mark on the new 3 series. Time will tell though as I am growing more fond of them as the time progress.

As for the Range Rover Sport, I would definitely do some aftermarket work. I would start with wheels and tires and some sort of suspension for sure. I've currently got my car on staggered offset blacks with a chrome lip 19s (8.5 inch fronts and 9.5 inch rears) and a sport suspension kit. There is really so much you can do with the Sport which is one of the reasons I want it so badly.

Lol, what can I say? I've been a car nut all my life :tounge:

I agree with you on the back of the M3 leaving something to be desired though.

I posted a couple pics of a sik M3 a lil while back, I'll post them when I get home

I gotta say, the regular Mercedes really aren't known for being the "Ultimate Driving Machines" but the AMG's are 100X better than the regular Benzes.

the AMG's are 100X better than the regular Benzes.

For real, take the S65 for example. MB actually had to put in a beefed up 5-speed tranny as opposed to the 7-speed in regular Benz's because otherwise, the S65 would tear itself apart faster than a fat kid does with his birthday cake.

No joke, can you imagine having 700+ ft-lbs of torque going through just two wheels? If you drive a RWD car (Savio, Binks), you know what I'm talking about

I can't imagine it.

My S has about 400 ft-lbs of torque and even with the ESP on, the rear tires still break loose, and with the ESP off, it keeps spinning and spinning until I take my foot off. It's pretty much impossible to do this in the ML being 4-wheel drive and all...believe me, I've tried. :tounge:

But no way in hell can I imagine over 700 ft-lbs of torque.
Ahh... one day, one day.

The AMGs are seriously sick. I want a CLK 63 AMG Black Series. I would still prefer a manual transmission, but I suppose I could do for an automatic.

And 700+ ft-lbs of torque would be amazing. Handling it would be a different matter.

Even though the CLK BS isn't a torque monster compared to the S, CL, SL65's, I would still pick it over the bi-turbo V12's just because of it's incredible handling.

I wouldn't, however, have it as a daily driver.

It is indeed CF. I'm looking to get a CF hood sometime soon. I have it unpainted still as I can't decide how I want to get it painted. I'm thinking a fade such that when you're far away it looks black but when you get close you can see the CF weave. Now I just have to find someone able to do it. I will probably do the hood the same way.

Ugh unfortunately yes. It fell from about a foot onto concrete. I'm sure that it normally would not have cracked but it was about 35 degrees outside so I think it made it a bit more brittle.

Of course, as I was replacing the glass screen, I stupidly (and accidentally) cracked the LCD, so I had to get a new one of those as well. Ugh.

Yeah. If it was on my v1 I would have been even more bummed. The worst part is that I had contacted Apple about them sending me a box because I had a ton of dust under my screen. Of course with the crack, they would want another $299.

Was it hard to change the glass on your 3G? I have a v1 with a cracked screen and i want to replace it. Just want to know how hard it is if it is the same steps the replace the glass on a v1 and a 3g. I have herd the 3G is easier to change out.

It wasn't that difficult. In the directions posted online they don't show the need for a heat gun (or hair dryer). This is needed to remove the actual housing from the old glass onto the new glass. You have to heat up the glue and pry it apart. Then you need to use rubber cement to put it back together. Mine got a little warped in the process, but nothing too bad.

I would say the entire thing took about 30 minutes.

Thanks. Im not real impressed with the new ones though. I was in the market for a new R1 until the unveiled it. Ill just stick with mine at least it looks good. Have you heard a full 2 bros system? Its so deep and rumbles everything. Its sets car alarms off when I drive by!

Yeah im not to impressed either but they arnt that bad though. I just looked at the 09 r1 and it looks like shi*!! I must of looked at a 08 or something.I still like the 06 the best. I have never herd a full tb but i have herd a 1000RR with a slip on and i liked it.(Its sets car alarms off when I drive by!) Is that a bad thing? I have my cat taken out of my y pipe and it sounds perfect!

They may be the deepest but not the loudest id give that to a d&d or a muzzy. They are SO loud it sucks to ride with my buddy who has a D&D.

Wait a second, isn't that your car Sav? But without that engine :tounge:

:tounge:

Maybe...

Actually, that is my car, and the second pic is my car too. It's a pic of the ML's engine bay.

I wanted to see if someone would notice.
Congrats! You win! :p

What you got in it?

2.2L Dart LS block. 27-30psi. 150shot multi port nitrous (not quite dialed in yet) 1900lbs with driver. 381hp/345ftlb on our Mustang dyno (415+ on amy other crap-ass dyno). It's enough, in the 1/4.......

EDIT: dyno numbers without spray. Still a work in progress.

Damn 1900 lbs. That would be insane. I would burn the tires off of that thing not to mention all the handbrake I would be using. :)

Has anyone seen michael jordans custom made ducati? It was on the show super bikes and it the badest bike i have ever seen. I just cant find a photo of it one is on flicker it just wont load. Its black and chrome with led headlights and silver carbon fiber. If someone can find me some pics or a website with pic on it that would be great.:laugh2:

No problem dude

I read on a Yamaha forum (r6central.com I think), where a guy who knows the builder (Garrett) said that he didn't want pics leaking out into the innwerwebz because it's gonna be in a publication sometime in the near future.

Yeah I can on YouTube but not on websites like the first link you posted. Yeah that's the bike how sick nasty is that bike!? I would think showing it on the speed ch on super bikes kind of kills that not leaking it. Idk that could be why I can't find pics of it.
