I'd like to start this off by saying it is my personal opinion that T-Mobile is better.
I had (until my BlackJack was stolen) both simultaneously.
T-Mobile pros:
Cheaper,
Better customer service,
Better phones for the general population (iPhone notwithstanding)
better service in Boston.
if bundled with T-Mobile@Home, home phone is 9.99/month, and you can make Wi-Fi calls from any UMA device.
AT&T pros:
Better service in my room
larger selection of higher-end phones
More expansive 3G coverage
iPhone 3G. enough said.
Tech support is actually pretty smart
Less apparent branding in higher-end phones
T-Mobile cons:
Every Nokia sold by T-Mobile is branded, and there is no way to make it look "stock"
Tech Support is completely useless
No way to use internet-based J2ME apps (Opera Mini) because App. Access restrictions is inaccessible.
To use the internet, one must add a 5.99 plan (at the very least)
3G is non-existent in most cities
AT&T cons:
Expensive as hell (txt = 0.20)
Customer service is terrible.
more basic phones are crippled by AT&T branding
Bad service in most buildings
I don't like AT&T much.
but I'm not biased.
AT&T was my first operator.
I had it for two years.
T-Mobile was next, for a year and a half now,
The only reason I have AT&T and T-Mobile side-by-side, is because I give out two phone numbers to different people.
verizon sucks.
by the way, has anyone seen the Samsung Behold? I played around with one earlier, it looks amazing.
I am getting my Nokia replaced with another one (the 6301 now), because I couldn't stand not being able to debrand it :angry:(I did my homework this time, though)
