It wasn't as good as Casino Royale (you can tell it's different directors), but it was definitely entertaining. I'd check it out.

Oh yeah? Gizmodo disagrees. They think it's the best bond ever:

I didn't want to watch Casion Royale. But I do want to watch this one. So if anything, the previews are WAY better. :p

Didn't watch it. Though it was playing in AMC 25 which was next to me, I still refused to watch it because I hate all James Bond movies. I did watch Max Payne though and I regret ever even thing about watching it LOL, it sucks hard.

I think they're either really exaggerating, or I need a second viewing. I'm anxious to see who you side with after seeing it.

On second thought, this movie is slowly leaving a bitter taste in my mouth. The editing was HORRENDOUS and the camera work was AWFUL. Every cut in the action scenes were cut tight - not a single wide shot. It was almost like a Bourne film. I'm going to see it again because I love Bond films, but Gizmodo has convinced me they know nothing about movies. Saying this is better than From Russia with Love or Casino Royale is an absolute joke.

Definitely reminded me of a Bourne film. The action scenes were just closeups with cut, after cut, after cut, of less than 1 second long shaky cam shots. I was waiting for the wide shots, and they rarely came.

Nonetheless, it was entertaining.

If it ain't Ian Fleming, it ain't Bond. Even the pitiful Soundtrack was a flop. With all the great past Bond soundtracks this was obviously an embarrassingly terrible attempt....
And the classic Bond opening sequence....? And the gadgets.....? This Bond failed.

I haven't had a chance to catch it yet but I've heard it's "different" for a Bond film. I'm not entirely sure what that means but I am eager to find out.

i've heard the bond girls are pretty smokin in this one.

that's really all that matters.

I finally got around to seeing Quantum of Solace and I wasn't THAT impressed. It had some great action sequences of course but I dunno, it just didn't do much for me. I would still recommend seeing it however.

yeah, it was pretty good. I think Craig is by far the best Bond. I could have stood for some cooler cars, though.

I was doubtful about Craig with Casino Royale but I do believe he is my favorite Bond as well. He seems much more brash and debonair than the previous Bonds and has a great swagger.

I agree on the cars though. In previous Bonds you would be hard pressed to find non-sport cars. In the new one there was an abundance of them.

i think the opening scene got my hopes up...

another thing i thought was interesting was that he didn't nail the russian chick at the end. These new Bonds definitely have more in the way of character development than the older ones.

I didn't like the ending at all. It seemed kind of pointless.

How soon we forget (well since you weren't even born yet, I'll overlook it)...There is only one Bond. Everyone knows that. Everyone else is just a copy. Times change, that's fine but there will only be one Bond. Forever.

Meet Mr. Bond...

My friend told me that every time they get a new Bond replacement he is shorter. Anyone know if this is true?

OJsakila
11-19-2008, 07:21 PM
can't get much more shorter than the sawed off rufian they're using now.

And none of the copies come even close to the swagger Sean Connery carries with him daily.

But you have to admit, Craig is the closest.

The producers had a three-film deal with Ford.

I just saw it yesterday...

disappointing, really.

too much action, too little sense, too much desert, felt as if i was watching Die Hard at times...

not a good movie.

TarekElsakka

Die Hard is one of the worst movies I've watched. Especially Die Hard 4.0 (Live Free or Die Hard), I don't know if Bruce Willis didn't realize that he got too old for all that by then.

Die hard 1 and die hard with a vengeance are both amazing.

I disagree with QOS not making sense, though. When taken in the context of a direct sequel with casino royal (which you can't do with any other bond film, btw), the details piece together nicely.

Hip I agree about the Die Hard films. I rather enjoy them. I don't watch them expecting a cinematic masterpiece, but an action packed fun time. I believe people often go into movies expecting too much from them and then end up disappointed.

As for QoS being a good sequel, I do think that it followed the CR story line pretty well.

Just saw Quantum of Solace. It was decent. Casino Royale was better IMO. This movie was hard to follow I thought and the plot was not the best.

Considering the economic times, the film made a pretty penny.

4036

Considering almost every WB movie released this year has made a loss, not bad going for Sony.

Not a bad movie, and Craig is the best Bond, next to Connery, of course, IMO.

I like the way Delroy Lindo (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005148/) acts and talks. Especially in this movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0165929/).

That was a good movie man. It was filmed in Vancouver, Canada. Best city on the entire planet to live in (that's what the United Nations say).

But he's not a Brit, so he can never be Bond... James Bond.

I'm glad Pierce Brosnan wasn't in for very long. As an actor, he is an extremely rude person. He thinks the sun shines out of his backside and treats everyone like dirt. Not a nice guy to have to work with. Bit like Eddie Murphy.

I liked Pierce Brosnan the most. Don't ask me why, but even his appearance was fit enough to act Bond.I read all the Bond books a long time ago, and Brosnan doesn't fit the mold. He's too tall and effete, not the rugged, manly man that Bond was originally. Bond is supposed to be a mean, fearless bastard, business first, ladies second. Connery, however, managed to do both at the same time!

He's perfect for chick flicks, not 007.
