Jailbroke, but no wifi

Ive gotten my phone Jailbroke version 2.1 but I have no wifi or internet on my phone.

Can someone direct me as to how to get started, all done on my laptop internet?

have you got into settings>Wi-Fi?

Go into wi-fi and your iphone will search for wi-fi connections?

Any pad locked sources will require a WEP key to connect
