So today started out with me walking to Anne's car.
3908

When I got in I was like,"DAYUM! Clean this crap up ANNE!"
3909

Then we went to Hardees and got some breakfast and I got one of those strawberry banana smoothie shakes. YUM!
3910

Then Anne paid the chick.
3911

Then after we ate, we went around to some flea markets. I found this AWESOME sink for a couple hundred bucks. Probably woulda gotten it too, but I'm tryin to buy a 2G 16GB iPhone so I decided to hold on to the change.
3912

This is the mirror that went with it. I dunno if they were priced together or not now that I think about it.
3913

I bought this thing for 10 bucks and then at the next flea market we saw two more identical ones so I guess they are from some buy direct warehouse or something lol.
3914

Then we went to my mom's and I heard a scratch at the door! LUCY!
3915

Tried to get a few shots of Lucy on the porch.
3916

She wouldn't sit still for too long though. Kept tryin to run away from me. lol

Then Lucy played with her brother, Yogi.
3918

I threw one of my old shoes into the yard and she pounced away!
3919

Brother and Sister playin together...
3920

I had to follow Lucy with the camera because she was runnin circles around me!
3921

After play time was over, they had to get a refreshing drink!
3922

My mom gave me some neat bottle for some reason. I guess I'll put it on the bar at home.
3923

Then I took a pic of my fake ice. I may have done that before, but they are so neat. lol
3924

And then I found this painting I did in Junior High. Its one of my favorites.
3925

The end...

for now. :p

I was stationed in Germany when New Coke came out.

Bad marketing move there...

RC is good, especially in the bottle; haven't had it in a while, though.

Alexander

Completely different taste, and they pulled regular coke off the market. After an uproar, they put it back alongside new coke as "Coke Classic". Eventually they pulled New Coke because no one wanted it, but regular cans still say "Coke Classic".

Interesting.

TarekElsakka
11-15-2008, 01:25 PM
Both Pepsi and Coca-Cola don't seem to be different in taste to me.

Hayesimus

TarekElsakka

The difference between Pepsi and Coke is in your head. I read it in a book called Blink by Malcolm Gladwell, and here is an interesting blog to support it: http://www.fraudwasteabuse.com/2007/04/pepsi-vs-coke.html

TarekElsakka

Actually that's true. You want to know something weird? Sometimes it is really cold here in my house, like 10 Celsius but I feel like really hot and sweaty (which I am actually not) until I turn on the AC for just less than a minute, then I start the feel so cold once I hear the AC's voice. I guess I got too used to it that I sometimes sleep on the sound it makes.

trust me, you could blindfold me and i'd know the difference. I've drank both before enough to taste the subtle differences.

right. there is a difference between the two. That's a fact. Otherwise they would be suing each other for ripping off their respective formulas. Just because the average joe may not be able to tell a difference doesn't mean its impossible.

TarekElsakka
11-15-2008, 01:58 PM

There are a few books out there that claim we never landed on the moon and that there's an intelligently-constructed face on Mars.

There's also another book out there (I'd give the title here if the iPhone had copy & paste -- grrr...) that claims that one (either Coke or Pepsi) uses orange peels in its formulation and the other uses lemon peels.

So choose your weapon...

Alexander

I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm saying the statistic in the book was 98 or 99% of people cannot. However, I've never heard someone outright say they can't distinguish the taste difference.

What does that leave? A lot of people who think they can tell the difference, and a lot of people who in reality can not. In this case, those two niches overlap.

Tell me you've distinguished the difference in a blind taste test between the two, and I'll totally believe you've got it. Until then, I rightfully remain skeptical.

Hayesimus
11-15-2008, 03:22 PM
no prob. i'll conduct the test this week. also i'd like to point out that the differences are even MORE noticable if they are fountain sodas from say a fast food joint.

Hehe, the thanks and other things never really meant anything to me in forums as long as I thanked people who helped me and they thank me if I help them, by words I mean. All I cared about in one forum was posts amount, I reached like 8,000 posts in a private forum about a game called Gunbound that I played online and that was so exciting, then suddenly after all that time, one of the admins accidentally erased all threads in the forum. :D

Hayesimus
11-18-2008, 09:16 AM
THAT'S HORRIBLE!!!!!!! What would I do if all my random crazy forum posts were gone!!??

But as you say, I'm much more concerned with personal thank yous in the form of a post or a private message. But if its technical information then the thanks button is good because then multiple people can thank you. Then you and for that matter everyone can see how helpful that post is when we are just scrolling through a thread or something. I may not make sense right now. I've been awake for about 19 hours, 12 of which were spent at work. :p

TarekElsakka
11-18-2008, 09:26 AM

You're either good at Geometry or good at Algebra. One is is purely formulaic, and the other relies on spatial thinking. In fact, a lot of "brain analysis" tests ask whether you prefer algebra or geometry.

I'm not really sure but I think Geometry needs excessive thinking before answering, unlike the Algebra, which if you already memorized the necessary rules, you can just easily solve it. I sucked at both but I was better at Algebra, of course after writing some of the rules on my hands and a small paper also included other rules in my socks. Lol fun days.

if you're just memorizing rules, you're not really doing math... you're doing arithmetic.

being that there's not a whole lot of arithmetic in geometry, you can't get away with being a human calculator.
