I did a search and could not find a topic on this...

Where is the option to view your emails in split view (i.e. inbox on top half, email in bottom half)??? I've been searching in settings, in the inbox. I just rewatched the Macworld keynote and the button that Steve Jobs pressed isn't on my phone.

Anyone have a solution? Thanks.

Indeed it is missing. I went back and watched the keynote.

You're referring to this... (Top right corner)

good catch! would love to know also. :) maybe they have all the new patches ready to go for updates and that's just a taste before it was even released.

Two things:

1. iJohn, sorry about the repost, i am on my iphone and this has been bothering me for a while.

2. I bet they will add it in a firmware update. Its just weird that they would intro it and not use it. Was the intro of this a mistake?

Split view has always been a poor method for reading (IMHO).

They probably realized that the "show X lines of text" Settings option is a more efficient way of doing "preview" in the iPhone context, since you are able to preview the first few lines of _every_ email with the flick of a finger.

In split pane mode, you have to individually select each message to preview it, which is a lot of repetitive pressing that is better done with a flick.

Split pane has been an annoyance forever. It encourages "top posting" which is a dumb method of writing back and forth... reading the answer, then seeing what the questions were. Who reads a book page 2 first, then page 1? But split pane encourages the habit of writing the response before the question.
