I'm going to mexico for a month and would like internet access. Could I buy a used iphone without a contract and use it as a wifi appliance at internet cafes?

why not just buy a touch if thats all you want it for, unless you wanna take pics with it?

I just came back from Spain and used my V1 iPhone just with wifi access.

Yes, should work just fine.

i wouldn't mess with it. like xcissexc said, just get an ipod touch.

I agree with those above, if you are just looking for an internet appliance with cool multi-touch gestures than just get a iPod touch. It would be far less complicated and serve you very well.

Yeah go with the iTouch... then download an App called Pandora and listen to all of your favorite artist:laugh2:

I love Pandora! .. I can't believe they nail my playlists 100%, I have yet to hear a song that I don't love on there.
