I just got an iPhone and I'm trying to sync it with my iMac. I was able to load my outlook calendar onto the iPhone, but now I can't figure out how to sync the iPhone with iCal in my new iMac. Everything where I look it tells me to use iTunes, but all that does is sync my contact list.

What version of itunes are you using?
You should see this in the info tab:

3882

Whatever the newest version is. I just got it.

Another piece of additional info. I managed to get it to sync, but I can't figure out how to set which way it syncs. So, it took my blank calendar from the iMac and wiped out everything I had on my iPhone. How do I adjust the sync settings?

Well...it's a SYNC, which means that it should take current data from both and sync them. That being said, in iTunes, you can force it one way or the other manually. After that, it should sync both devices.

not necessarily. The first time you sync your iphone to your computer, iTunes should ask if you want to Merge the data from both devices, of just use the info from one (or the other) on both devices.

also, just because you got your imac doesn't mean you have the latest iTunes. Since apple assembled your computer, there have probably been many software updates that should be installed. That being said, the iTunes you do have should be recent enough to sync iCal properly.

Okay, where do I set iTunes manually?

well, the original calendar on your iphone is gone. You;ll have to re-sync with your previous computer to get it back. After that, when you then sync with your iMac, iTunes should ask you if you want to "merge" the information on both devices, which is what you want to do. I believe this is the only way to accomplish what you're looking to do.

Thanks. That's what I ultimately did and it worked. Apparently, the first time I "synced", iCal over-rode my iPhone.

The best water pipes can be found in both Isreal and Egypt, trust me. I don't know, but I think there will be a legal procedure for that.
