I feel bad that a lot of people are having problems, but is anyone satisfied with the iphone? I was able to activate in a couple of minutes, and have not had a single problem since. Am I the only one, or are only the unsatisfied buyers posting?

Same here - my only complaint is the difficulty I'm having getting it to synch with Outlook. I worked around this issue with the contacts, but I only have one choice for calendar. Hopefully soon enough I'll be a full blown Mac guy though and won't need to worry about synching with MS products anyway.

I'd say I'm 99.99% happy with it. It's an amazing phone.

It has exceeded my expectations as far as style, screen brightness and resolution and good ol' Apple common-sense interface. I do miss having MMS picture-message capability, and I wish copy and paste were an option, but I'm okay sacrificing those features for all the advantages of this device. I was one of the lucky ones who was able to activate and go in less than three minutes. I can imagine how frustrated others must be, but once all is resolved I think they'll find the hassle was worth it!

I had problems activating it, but that was my fault. I drained the laptops battery while waiting in line for the phone. LOL. But after I plugged the laptop in, with reasonable effort activation was swift.

Aside from the battery life, Safari crashing every 10 minutes, and Gmail not working too well, I am ecstatic about my iPhone. I love this thing!

I'm absolutely in LOVE with my iPhone! It has more than exceeded my expectations and the only thing I wish was different is the price tag :tounge:. It's actually funny because every time I use my phone in public now people stop me and ask about the phone. I'm afraid to make calls in public haha!

I'm really sorry to everyone out there who is having or has had problems with the phone. I wish you the best of luck either getting it resolved or getting a new phone.

I absolutely love this phone. It isn't without it's faults, but I think that it's light years ahead of everything else out there in terms of all the technology and innovation packed into it.

Motorola Q, and Treo 750p goodbye!!! I won't miss ya!

The phone is out of this world, right now. I can only imagine what the updates will hold in store.

This thread comes as a lot of comfort to me. I have two on order. My wife and I loved the demo phones at AT&T, so we decided to take the plunge. When you read all the post where people are unhapy, I was starting to get cold feet.

Now if they will only send me my phones!

Thanks

I bought mine today and I am very happy with the purchase. Setup was a breeze. I was up and running in less than 10 min. with no problems so far. I had initially bought the clear case for it and had the scare of my life. I went outside to get the trash can from the end of the street with my iPhone in the holster while listening to the ipod. Soon as I hit the first step the phone feel out of the holster and hit the concrete:frown:... I wanted to cry but the kids outside prevented me from doing so. I immediately hopped in my car and took that case back and obtained the 3 in 1 sports band case which I am very happy with. There was no damage to the iPhone and I am enjoying it so much.

i'm very happy, but feel apple changed some hardware configurations so we couldn't use our old ipod accesories and had to buy news one. like the headphone jack...that kind of pisses me off, and no line out option for use with your car stereo. this is my new ipod as well after my old one died last month and i feel it should be able to function in my car as my ipod did. i see no reason why they couldn't have included a line out option through the usb port without having to use the dock. little things like that that i feel they could have made available to us but chose not to for reasons only they know.

i've used macs since i was 30...(i'm 50 now, deac!) and have the greatest respect for the apple product ethic...used to idolize el jobso in fact, but now he kind of pisses me off a bit. but what's my alternative? microsoft and windows products? no thank you!

i'll get over it. 90% satisfied with my iphone.

I'll start off by saying that I am not a Mac user and never owned an iPod (prior to the iPhone). I think the Mac is great for its niche and I tend to be more of a satellite radio guy instead of an iPod guy. But I have a great appreciation for the incredible expertise at Apple for UI design - in the same way that I am a fan of how incredible Disney is at moving people and entertaining people.

Until Sunday, I was a Windows Mobile PDA guy - my most recent being a Moto Q. Integrates great with our corporate e-mail and has lot of 3rd party apps. And while I still like a lot of the upside the Microsoft mobile world offers, it is outweighed by the implementation and UI of the iPhone. Sure, I'd love Flash, real Exchange synchronization and a GPS turn-by-turn app today but given the other benefits of the iPhone, I can wait a while to get those back.

I'll admit that I've had no issues with the iPhone in terms of setup - it was quick and painless. So that jades my opinion to the positive. But for a first generation converged device, I applaude Apple and I'm very happy to be an owner. i'll look forward to the next-gen just like I did in the early days of Palm and Windows Mobile (aka CE). Nice "job".

It took a little bit to activate, but since then very happy. The only thing that I hope they change is the ring tones and the ablity to change the notification tones for the email and text messages. They are too quiet.

Perfect, no problems and activation was about 3 minutes from start to finish.

Well, I waited in line for 10 hours, and it took 2 1/2 hours to activate my phone (only 5 minutes for my wife's)...

Still, I can't complain. I was one of the first people in the world to get my hands on the coolest phone ever, and it works flawlessly. Sure, I have some suggestions, but it is bar none the best phone I've ever put my hands on.

I couldn't be happier.

So far, very happy, no "buyer's remorse" whatsoever. I've owned several PDA phones, Palm and Windows mobile based, most recently I had a Cingular 8525 (HTC TyTN) and thought I'd never find another phone quite as versatile and feature packed. While the iPhone can't do everything the 8525 could do, to be honest, I never used half of what it could do anyway. For every thing that I find that bugs me about the iPhone, there are 10 more things that it does right. So far, my favorite features are hotspot wifi ability (using wifi on a windows mobile phone was always clunky and not user friendly) and the maps application. Heck, I even like the mail client, I'm a heavy gmail user and find the gmail pop client on the iphone to be pretty fun to use. Yes, being able to delete multiple emails, etc would be nice but so far I LIKE emailing on the iPhone. Using the keyboard is taking some getting used to but even after ONE day I can two thumb type on the virtual keyboard close to the speed I could two thumb type on the 8525 slide out keyboard. Battery life on the iPhone is also DOUBLE what I could get on the 8525 so that is a huge plus as well. I'm ebaying the 8525 and not looking back. I'm confident that Apple is going to continually update and improve the iPhone with software updates. I'm anxious to see how the device will improve but even as it is, it's a technical marvel and it's FUN to use.
