Add Button to the Home Screen

Is there anyway to add additional buttons to the mail screen for direct linking to web apps?

yea apple left a space on the bottom to tease us.
I bet they start selling apps on iTunes.

That space is where Steve Jobs' version has the buttons for "self-destruct all iPhones," "Apple Stock Ticker & Options Backdating Tool", and "Beam me up!"
