View Full Version : Apple employees with hacked iphones?

I've been using a jailbroken iphone for quite some time now and there are so many benefits that I've often wondered how many Apple employees have one too. I see quotes like:

"The second beta of firmware version 2.2 has been out for a few days. It looks like Apple still doesn’t have a fix for devices already prone to the pwnage jailbreak and unlock."

and I always wonder how much Apple really cares about it. I mean, I get that there are things that jailbroken apps do which Apple would never include in official versions because they are understandably concerned about the "average" iphone user experience. Jailbroken apps (like Backgrounder for example) can open the door to an unstable product--or create marketing challenges. This doesn't mean that it's not really cool, or something we wouldn't live without once we're used to it. We tend to be more patient with any errors or difficulties that come up because we know the phone is hacked.

I look at my iphone with sbsettings, categories, quick gold, themes & backgrounder just to name a few, and compare that to a stock iphone. Apple employees don't want this?

Are they really trying to put an end to jail breaking for the (relatively) small number of people doing it?

What do you think?

EDIT: I hope this isn't the wrong forum for this.
