Applications on the iPhone

Hi, got my iPHone a few months ago and just starting to play with it, getting mail to work and that, On the iTunes bit when you plud your iPhone in theres abit that says Applications, im guessing that you can only put apps on the iPhone that you have bought through the iTunes website and not transfer ones from my apps folder on my macbook?

you are correct. Only apps made for the phone will work. Now you can access additional apps thru jailbreaking, but that is a whole new subject.
