Hey guys so ill be getting a Macbook pro and among the other things i added I want to add Final Cut studio to it. Is it really easy to use? I mainly would use it to start making youtube videos, or editing videos taken of class shows/projects etc. Thoughts?

Have you edited video before? FCP is very intuitive but not a newb program -- iMovie is a much simpler vid editing tool and offers a lot more functionality than most expect.

But, don't let me stop you. I learned how to use FCP simply by forcing myself to (well, I also took a few classes, but that's besides the point). It's a fantastic program. But for simple class stuff like you describe I think iMovie is more appropriate and has a much lower learning curve.

and iMovie comes with new macs, so you might as well see if it suits your needs. You can always upgrade to fcp.

Ive never edited video before... but i heard FCP was very easy to use...but as you said i guess its not for "newb" use.

Does the Bar offer classes on how to use it? Books/tutorials?

I thought its WAY cheaper to get FCP while buying the laptop, because i heard later on if you wana buy it separate it costs upwards of $500

Afterward?

Is there a price break for buying it with the laptop? I was under the impression it was the same price regardless of when you buy.

Here's the deal... Final Cut Pro OR Final Cut Studio is the EXPENSIVE ONE. Final Cut Express is $180.

They can be bundled with the Mac, or you can pay the same price later on.

Anyways, spoke with an AppleChat.... they said iMovie is the easiest to use for a person who just wants to take a vid edit and load it to youtube or just edit to keep w/e.

Final Cut express is everything inbetween Imovie --to--- Final cut Studio.
