Some of my apps will act like they're about to open and then just send me back to the main screen on my IPhone. I have this problem with several of the apps. Some work and some wont. Lastnight I thought it was just shazam and midomi. I deleted them and reinstalled them and they work great. But today i noticed its more than just those two its a few other as well. I also have the fre version of Space Monkey and I deleted thinking I can get it back and now its .99 cents...:gasp:

Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this? Again I'll tap on the app and it will begin to open but within 3 seconds or it will send me back to the iphone main screen. Not doing with all apps but with alot of them.

Thanks

Which software version are you on?

If you are on 2.0, or 2.0.1, or 2.0.2, I would highly suggest updating to 2.1. It'll most likely fix these problems you are having.
Also, if you are on 2.1 already, try resetting the phone by pressing and holding the home button, and then sleep button until the phone shuts off.

Look to see if there are any version updates in the App Store. If not, delete, re-download and try again. If it happens again, and you're on 2.1, it's probably a buggy app.

Im already on the 2.1 and did what you suggested earlier and still nothing. I have done searches all over the net and it seems to be an ongoing problem with alot of folks and their iphones. I hope apple fixes this. This is rediculous!

Huh...I'm on 2.1 and have had zero problems with apps so far. Granted, I only have 12 or so. I hope the problems are not with your iPhone. Might want to try a restore as well...perhaps a refresh of the ROM and then downloading fresh copies of apps (at least those you didn't pay for) might help. Other than that, I got nothin' else I can think of.

I agree with impaler. Try restoring.

If the apps still crash, take it to Apple for a replacement.

You can download it again. You won't be charged.

Well, that's your best chance of fixing it on your own. And if you take it to Apple, that's probably what they'll do, too. That, or just give you a refurb.

Yep, I agree. At some point, if your phone is jacked up, restore is going to be an option. Just perform a backup before you restore and you'll be fine. If not...okie dokie...you asked for suggestions...

Oh I appreciate all the suggestions but restoring it shouldnt be an option. If you do a search you'll clearly see this is an issue that "ALOT" folks are having. They need to come up with a patch to fix this. What I did was delete all the apps that were not working, reinstall them and then sync them back up in itunes. All seems fine now, just hope it isnt a matter of time before it happens again. Also thanks for letting me know about Space Monkey.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

I have 1.06GB of apps on my iPhone and even more on iTunes and I don't have a problem like that.

Make sure you also have iTunes 8.0.1. I'm not sure if that would make a difference but it shouldn't hurt.

Ok, I did the search, and I found that most people solved the problem by restoring. Yes, it's ridiculous that this is necessary, but the fact is... it is.

It only takes at most 45 minutes at most... and that's including syncing all your media back.
