Boot Camp and windows updates

I was wondering if it's ok to update windows on my mac. There are some windows updates that are bugging me to be installed, but I don't know if it's safe to put all these windows security updates and such on my OS 10.5.

Bootcamp supports the latest service packs of XP and vista, so it shouldn't be an issue at all... but updates always have a potential to go wrong.

You may run into a few issues now and then, but there are fixes online. I recently upgraded XP to SP3 while booted in XP and then Parallels wouldn't work right. I just had to reset Parallels' cache and it worked fine. I would do ALL upgrades while the computer is booted in XP, however. From what I found online, the workarounds and fixes are MUCH easier in Parallels as opposed for Boot Camp.
