I am having a little problem understanding how to get my e-mail pushed to my I-Phone when I am not doing so via a Wi-fi network. I have a jailbroken I-Phone on the T-Mobile network with an unlimited calling and text plan and a blackberry data plan .... what do I need to do to get my e-mail when out and about and not home using my wireless network?

Thanks,

Keith

It would help us if you gave us a little more information. Like currently how is your email setup? What types of error messages do you get when you're out and about?

When not connected to a wireless connection, it tells me I am not connected to the internet when I try to use an application that connects that way. When I try and send mail (aol, yahoo or g-mail, it tells me that the outgoing server failed (no such error when sending mail and connected to a wireless network).

Thanks,

Keith

Does the "APN" under the cellular data area have anything to do with this? Mine is not configured and I do not know if it should be?

I just checked my phone and didn't find the area that you were talking about. You should probably contact T-Mobile and see what's up. Sounds like your data plan might not be working.

I think it's acting up because you're not playing by the rules and the BlackBerry data plan routes data for e-mail through the RIM NOC. You probably need a regular PDA data plan. Which you're taking a risk with if you contact them. They're probably not crazy with a data-hungry device like that chewing up network bandwidth.
