View Full Version : Porting issues maybe??? HELP

Hi, I am new to this site and also to the iphone 3g. I had V1 back when it first came out and got rid of it due to signal issues. Anyway so far im loving the new 3g. I just got the phone last night maybe around 7:30-8. I ported my number from verizon and I just tried my phone this morning and it still has not finished porting. I know times are different for the process but i would think it would have finished by now. Do you guys think i should be worried about this or just wait it out? I know some phone companies send you a text when the porting process is over, but does ATT? Thanks Brandon

I had the same issue way back when I got my version 1. I called ATT support and they helped push it through. And yes ATT does text a conformation of service when the porting is complete.

Of course disregard what I said above if this is an unlocked non ATT phone. Because now that I think of it, if you bought the phone from ATT or Apple they would do the whole porting and activation procedure in the store. Version 1 phones where "not" done in the stores

Ok i just got off the phone, since it was purchased so late they dont finish the port until normal business hours. The lady i talked to gave the exact time that it will be active so i shoud be good. She didnt say anything about a text but she said i must power down my phone right before the time and turn it back on and everything will be ok. Thanks for the help
