A day on the road with 2.1

Day started off on a cross country flight from New York to Seattle. 4 Hours of ipod time, about 2 hours of phone calls, many emails in and out, some light apps and web use. And almost full bars of 3g service. Bluetooth on during phone calls. How did the battery do?

How the hell are you guys doing that? I can't get past 3 1/2 hours of usage without the battery dying.

Could it be having 3 email accounts? I don't understand what is killing my battery. I've even swapped for a new phone.

turn OFF the push email...

manually grab email...

Turning off 'Push' and using the settings mentioned in the article below gave me a much, much longer batter life without sacrificing functionality...

He has 3G off, Location Services Off, Bluetooth Off.

Of course he's getting so much time. He's not using anything :D

how many minutes of pure music listening is done....that can REALLY extend usage time with minimal battery drain

I'm doing my own test, I currently am about about 50% with 3 hours 40 min usage and a total of 1 Day and 3 hours of standby

Looks like decent times. I have charged my iPhone a bit since being fully charged but I'll see what kind of life I get out of it tomorrow.

I went on a trip today from Massachusetts to New York, a 4 hour trip by bus. This are my results. 5 hours and 20 minutes of very heavy usage. Listening to music the whole time, checking maps constantly(having gps locate me lol), playing lots of apps like Tetris, Star Wars, Spore and whoshere. Lots of web browsing. Pretty sweet results imo, lasted me the whole trip and more so no complaints.

yeah, my time had a good amount of music only, so that raised up my usage an hour or 2. and i had wifi off which i normally dont do.
