Apps icon stuck with 3 showing

My apps icon is stuck with #3 in the upper right for corner. When I click on it it shows 3 updates available. They won't down load and I cannot download through iTunes. Any ideas?

Have you tried resetting the iPhone by holding down the home and sleep buttons? Try going into Settings and resetting all settings. That should hopefully do the trick. Also, try closing iTunes on your computer and then running it again.
