I saw a post in another forum, probably can't say which... lets just say it rhymes with xbellize....

This post included a host file that you could download that filters out most of the ad networks.

Here's why this is great: Standard 'pay per click' ads are WAY too easy to accidentally click, on a mobile device. With more designers 'gaming' the system by placing ads on mobile versions of websites completely surrounding the link you intend to click on... the system is broken. As an advertiser myself, with the amount of 'accidental clicks' i make as an experienced browser, I will never pay for PPC again. With mobile browsing becoming more popular, I'm officially stating my opinion that 'pay per click' will be dead and gone in < 2 years.

In the meantime, why not make things easier by eliminating the ads, and if you want to support the site you are visiting, look for their 'donate' link. This could speed up web browsing, especially if you block out google analytics (which is oftentimes why pages hang while loading).

I've mentioned this elsewhere, but i'd like to hear what you everythingicafe users have to say? Best ever, or not worth the minimal hassle?

i'm a member of that site you speak of as well, its a great site. but as for the mod, its works really well. one thing obviously is that it takes away money for developers that make free apps and put them on cydia. One example is bigboss' application categories. its a great free app that is now supported by ads. Bigboss added a tweak to his own app that can detect if you have the mod to eliminate those ads installed, if you do categories becomes unuseable.

I really only wanted to block ads in cycorder so i dont accidentally hit an ad while recording.

but i think the mod is a great idea and i do support it in most instances
