I have 2 Iphone 3G's that I purchased about 1 month ago. I also have one phone # on my ATT account that is not an Iphone.I found an Iphone(original version 4GB) and was not able to return it. I called Apple and gave them all the serial #'s but they said they could not help me. I then called ATT, they also could not help me because they said the account is no longer active. I insisted that there should be a way to track down the owner. They told me to go to an ATT factory store and they could help me. I went to my local ATT store and they told me they could not help me but if I wanted to activate the phone I would have to get a 2 year contract. The only thing I can do with this phone is make an emergency call. I know there has been a lot of atricles on unlocking the phone but I am still a little unsure of what software version is on the phone as I can only get the emergency dial screen. Is there anyone that could walk me through this? Have pity on a guy that is not too computer literate on this subject. Thanks!
