Picked up an MBS-100 Bluetooth speaker free from work. Anyone else using one sucessfully? I can't get them to pair up. Their site does NOT mention the iPhone for compatability. Says it uses Bluetooth 2.0.

Did some more reading before posting....

From what I've read, iPhone doesnt support any BT wireless music? We can send voice to an earpiece but not music to a speaker eh?

Then again, we can't send MMS either. :tounge:

Looks like I might have to plug this thing in wired for a while....

Anyone heard any rumors of BT music for iPhone comming soon?

For Some reason, Apple made a phone integrated into an iPod and internet device, and failed (and still fails) to take advantage of AD2P (stereo bluetooth), even though the hardware can easily support it.
No one knows why, or if it will ever actually change, but as of right now, it's even less likely then say...copy/paste. :P The only thing I can figure is that someone is going to use BT Earphones or Speakers, get a total of maybe 4 hours of play out of it and then whine that the battery didn't last using iPod like they said it would. Not like they couldn't actually state that iPod play time is severely shortened with use of these devices.
Leave it to the brain trust at apple....

You can get an a2dp adapter if you really want to do it. I'm using the infinixx ap23, works pretty well. Also there are a lot of cheaper solutions via the headphone jack connector. Basically you need a transmitter that will convert audio to bluetooth stereo (a2dp).

The iPhone 3G now has stereo A2DP BT support with the 3.0 update.

Might try pairing with one of these sweet balls at the Sony store. I'm 99% sure it'll work, as I currently use an Ericsson BT headset that works flawlessly.

You are resurrecting a 10+ month old thread. A2DP has been available since the beginning of June, and its already widely known.

Dear Genious,

This forum post showed up quite high in my Google search, I wasn't posting for you guys, I was posting for everybody in the world. This was a public service post, to those who don't own an iPhone, or track every detail of the updates that iTunes is applying to their phones, but maybe want to buy this cool portable speaker system to go with their new phone, and they are thinking...hmmm...maybe I'll get an iPhone will go with these speakers, let me Google it and get misinformation from 10 months ago...or maybe they own the speakers already, and they want to know whether the speakers work with the iPhone they want to get because their Sony phone died because it sucked.

Your welcome world,
