Anyone know if it's coming soon, I want to J-Break it again.
I know it takes time and appreciate the work they are doing, not being an ******* but wondering how much longer it may be.
Appreciate it.

There hasn't been much said when they'll be released yet. It should hopefully be soon. If you can't wait, there is a thread here you can use to request a custom firmware. If you can't wait.

You can follow these instructions for a Windows Jailbreak:

I just did it this morning and as long as you follow the instructions to the letter, it works great.

It works great. I did it this morning and have been setting up jailbreak apps all day now with no issues.
Bossprefs, Categories, OpenSSH, Tunewiki, Flashlight... all my appstore apps... everything is working just fine.

Well, there are reports that the retrograde to iTunes 7.7 isn't really necessary. Considering that iTunes isn't really involved in the Quickpwn process at all (to my knowledge... other than originally getting the stock 2.1 on your phone), I don't see why you need to downgrade.
But yeah, once I did the pwn, I updated to 8.0 again and I'm good as gold now.

I hear ya... I'm just beside myself with joy right now. I wish I had saved my custom summerboard theme, though! Oh well, I got a ton of new apps now anyway, so time to build it again...

You should browse to a legit 2.1 firmware from Apple (if you've already upgraded through iTunes, you should find the FW file in c:/documents and settings/[user]/application data/apple computer/itunes/iphone software updates.
If the firmware you select isn't compatible, it will just sit there and do nothing. If you select the proper one, you will get a green checkmark and will be able to proceed...

Are you trying to do this with iTunes version 8 or 7?

Are you trying to do this with iTunes version 8 or 7?
well i'm using 8 to start out and get 2.1 on there, and then downgrading to 7.7 for the rest of it. but i've already tried this twice, and i keep getting the crash loop. so i'm pretty sick of installing and reinstalling itunes. :frown:

Ok, i've got it pwned and it's got cydia and installer on it.
now, when i go to restore from my backup in iTunes, does it need to be version 7.7 or 8?

Don't restore from your backup. That's the problem, I think. You have to sync your data to other programs, restore as new, then sync the stuff back.
I'm trying to pwn my wife's phone as I type this without downgrading to iTunes 7.7. I'll let you know how it goes.
