Do we finally get push notification tomorrow? i hope so.

i REALLY hope so. i mean they said it would be out September so it would make sens eto be in tomms update. id be really dissapointed if it wasn't because i dont think i can go any longer without it lol.

i agree AIM is pretty useless for daily usage without push notifications

Push would be nice to have, but I would much rather have an iPhone that just...works

Since, under SDK rules, apps cannot run in the background, Apple has been forced to come up with a workaround for apps that rely on messaging services after the program is closecd (like IM apps). Basically, servers can push a indication of some sort (like when someone talks on an IM app) to the app even when it's closed, so that you know to open it and see the new info.

I'm gonna go on record as saying this thing is not gonna work right outta the gates.

From what I heard in the beta 4 of 2.1 they pulled that feature as well as the rumored real directional guiding GPS because they were so worried about the bugs and such that people were having with the phone.....but i dont think 2.1 should be a good version number if atleast one of those two features wasn't included...

yeah i was thinking the same thing
it went from 2.0 to 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 and now 2.1?
there has to be something big right?
btw its sept 12 and still not update :(

I don't think that's a go in 2.1. If it were it would be a big enough deal to get on the "what's in this update" list. 2.1.1 is already going through initial seeds and since they did promise it in September, they'll probably release it Sep 30 as 2.1.1.
