Help! Can't sync after update to iTunes 8. I get an error message that it cannot read from the attached device. Any suggestions? I had my iPhone in airplane mode when I tried, not sure what effect that might have had.

Try forcing it, by putting your phone in DFU mode. Pressing home & sleep button at sme time until iTunes logo shows up on the iPhone screen. Mark

Is your iPhone jailbroken? That can be the reason. iTunes 8.0 detects it and doesn't allow a sync.

Did you fix this? I have the same issue. No sync screen after restore of iphone.
