got my first bill since the up grade to the 3G. 1300 rollover minutes from old phone and old plan became 300 minutes that rolled over.
Called AT&T, got it straightened out, and they had no answer why it happened.
Also got billed right away, but had to wait 3 weeks to get the phone. They had to pro rate the charges. Once again had no idea why it happened.
Go over your bill carefully. Just think of how many people do not, and ATT gets away with those little charges. Adds up.

I was told that as long as you don't cancel a plan, and all you are doing is changing plans than you keep your roll overs. It might be different if you down grade your plan.
I went from single cheapy plan, to Family plan using three iPhones.

You only lose your rollover minutes when you switch to a plan with less minutes. I think they let us keep an amount equal to one month of minutes on our new plan.

I've been with AT&T as long as I can remember and have changed plans a few times now. Although rollover minutes came with the Cingular merger, I've never lost any rollover minutes when I've switched plans except for the ones that automatically expire monthly after 12 billing cycles.

I have had a couple of problems First They Never Added The Iphone Internet Plan to my Account. So my first bill was over $800 and that was just for internet use not including my phone plan so it took them 3 weeks to figure that out and Still ended up paying it. So They know what they are doing. just wandering of they are getting caught.

Well I guess loyalty pays off with AT&T. I've been with them for over ten years now.

You're assuming these incidences are a matter of policy. I suspect they are random errors and you have been lucky that it didn't happen to you.
We are talking about AT&T here, y' know.

I don't believe they are errors. I know for a fact when the merger with Cingular took place you could downgrade to another plan and retain your minutes as long as the plan you were switching to included rollover minutes (back then the cheapest plan did not include rollover).
Their policy was that you could enroll in a large package to protect yourself from going over, monitor it for a few billing cycles and if you noticed you had an excess amount of minutes rolling over each month you could downgrade without loosing minutes. I did this a number of times until I ended up with the lowest plan that had rollover minutes.
Today I believe all of their individual plans include rollover minutes so the policy may be different now.

I lost my rollover minutes when i upgraded from the 8g to the 16g and the new iphone plan-No one at AT&T informed that would happen. i called and was told they always take your rollover minutes away(but let you keep a months worth) when you switch plans. My minutes were reinstated when i complained :-0

Are you kidding me? That would be enough right there for me to cancel my contract. I did have the same thing happen to me, my bill was close to 10 grand, it was actually the third month I had the phone. They straightened it out though.
