It's an honest mistake, don't feel bad. You might want to add 2.1 for Touch in the heading. Otherwise there will be a lot of people thinking you meant the iPhone 2.1 update...Mark

are any of you guys/gals having issues with iTunes 8 and checking for updates with apps? My user profile's iTunes throws out an error code 5002 every time I check for updates, but my wife's user profile's iTunes works. All on the same computer (obviously!) and all on one iTunes account.

Any ideas?

The "NEW" workaround is to update your apps from itunes now as opposed to thru the phone like the last version of itunes workaround.... Crazy but o well heres a little help I found for you.

Alot of iphoners are having issues after upgrading to iTunes 8 which was released by Apple yesterday.

I had reported earlier that Windows Vista users are facing the blue screen of death (BSOD) (http://www.iphonehacks.com/2008/09/itunes-8-issues.html) after upgrading to iTunes 8.

As per this Apple discussions thread (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1701885&tstart=0), some iPhone users have also reported problems upgrading iPhone apps in iTunes 8. You can checkout the workaround after the jump.

Workaround for Unknown Error Occurred (5002):
As per this Apple discussions thread, some iPhone users had reported problems upgrading iPhone apps (http://www.iphonehacks.com/iphone_applications/) in iTunes 8. They get the following error message:
"We could not complete your iTunes Store Request.
An unknown error occurred (5002).
There was an error in the Itunes Store. Please try again later."

The error should stop if you follow this workaround:

<LI TrdAn="0" nIEj8="0">Update the iPhone apps from your iPhone itself and then sync your iPhone with iTunes 8.
iTunes 8 will transfer the purchases to the iTunes library on your computer.
As always, do let us know if you are facing this problems and if the workaround helps or in case you have figured a better way to resolve the issue.
