WTF? The Apple web page says you can download iTunes 8.0. When I do, I get the 7.7 version installer. I am so sick and tired of Apple rushing things. Every damn time they do they frack it up!

That's weird ... I'm looking at iTunes 8.0.0.35 right now

I wonder if they are rolling it out in reagions so they don't crash their servers like what happened the day of the 3G launch.

Perhaps so... if not Phil, you've got some really bad luck with Apple products lately.

Good luck man!

LOL. No **** Rob. Another Texan posted in another thread that the same thing happened to him. Apple must be rolling it out by regions this time to avoid the server crashes they had on the day of the 3G launch. Hell I wasn't paying any attention so after the install I pulled up iTunes and when I saw I still had 7.7 I thought what WTF. So, I uninstalled iTunes, and the other four Apple applications. And this time when I went to install I noticed that I was installing 7.7 again. I wonder if they have an iPhone wallpaper with an apple in a circle with a diagonal line through it. LOL!

Your theory about the regional roll out is probably correct. Although I'm in MST and you're CST. You'd think they'd go east to west but who knows. Give it a little while and I'm sure it'll be available for you.

This morning I tried (unsuccessfully) downloading iTunes 8.0 for my Windows Vista 64-bit PC and the download file was named, "iTunes8Setup.exe". Due to my network connection, my download dropped the connection. I was using NetShare (my laptop tethered to my iPhone 3G).

Anyway, this evening, I tried again and the name of the file had been changed to "iTunes864Setup.exe".

I guess what I'm sayin' is that Apple didn't have their $hit together early, but finally got something going later in the day. I'm actually in the middle of that second download now. I'll report back once it is done and I install it.

It works fine. Help > About shows version: 8.0.0.35.

I have not experienced any of the BOSD that folks have seen with Vista.
