I am starving....it is my night to cook, and I have no idea what to make...All I have is ground turkey meat and Pork Chops....neither are that appealing, either.

taco cabana

I just died a little inside.

The infamous T.C. run is something I have missed for a VERY long time. I ahve many a memories of going to T.C. late night after partying. GREAT food for when you need some good grub.

I used to just get a dozen flour tortillas, a side of Queso, and 2 beef fajita tacos....a FEAST, indeed.

Do you people have Chipotles in the area? If so, I'm planning on it for dinner and I recommend it for you too.

I actually just realized I've not once cooked myself a meal since coming to college, aside from the usuals such as Easy Mac and Ramen noodles. I eat out every day of the week. The worse part is that I love cooking.

Yeah. Chipotle is alright.....I've had better burritos from better establishments (i.e. FreeBirds, Baja Fresh), but they are tasty.

It's a Southwestern state establishmnt (I think only in Texas, Lousianna, Oklahoma....Origin is Texas I believe). VERy tasty TexMex...not quite fast food, b/c you do wait while they cook your order, but you do get it pretty quick....they do have drive through, etc.

I had leftover tacos tonight, enlightened with Tex's own fresh salsa from the game yesterday. Truly awesome... I ate: 2 many.

I ended up going to 101 Downtown. A local Gainesville restaurant that has some of the best steaks in town. Absolutely delicious. I had a Brazilian Bourbon Coffee Rub strip that was one of the best steaks I've had in months. Last time I had the ribeye and it was easily the best I've ever had. It came with a side of pesto mashed potatoes which were also delicious.

Dang, now I'm hungry again.

It was back-to-school night tonight, so I was stuck on campus until 7:30. I popped out to pick up a brown rice California roll and a Sobé at the grocery store and managed to eat about half before parents started showing up. 11 1/2 hour workday... I'm exhausted.

that's exactly what I get at the Cabana. We got a dozen flour tortillas, queso, and a couple beef fajita tacos. Oh and 2 of those $11 frozen margarita pitchers. Last night was a perfect night for sittin on the patio. Almost was a little bit of crisp fall air.

Now Freebirds, THAT is my all time favorite. Surprising for an Aggie to say that isn't it? I have to go to North Dallas for that though, TC is right down the street.

I still remember the day they opened the first one in Austin back in 1999 when I was in college. It was in the shopping plaza right next to my house. I think in the first month I ate there 8-10 times. It was dangerous.

That is one of the places I MUST go to when I visit home. Load it up with The BadAss BBQ, and the Habenero Sauce, and top it off with the roasted Garlic....Damn, I am missing it.

Funny that y'all have the same T.C. strategy that I always employed. best tortillas! I miss those midnight munchie runs.

hmm well if ya ever make it to the Dallas area we must hit the Bird. It's not as convenient for me as the one in College Station was. My dorm was right across from it, but it's still worth the 30 minute drive.
