should i update to "whatever" from 1.1.3?? i been hearing bad soft about 2.0.1 JB.. (ppls phones crashing, having to restore every 3 days.). i have to be unlocked & jailbroken
what firmware should i up date too?? is there anything thats stable with a unlock & jailbrake ?
if i update to 2.0.1 can i use all the same apps my friend uses on his iphone 3g??
the only reason i wanna update is for the appstore apps, i hear alot of ppl have problems when they have 5+ pages of apps.. is this true? is there any fix for this?

Unless you are in dire need of exchange email or the App Store I would hold off. The 2.0 software is not exactly the most stable of firmwares.
2.1 is supposedly due soon. It's supposed to fix many of the current bugs. I'd wait to see how that turns out before you do anything.

Everyone I know with a 3g has the same issues as I do on the V1 (safari crashes, keyboard lag, lagging contacts list, etc).
I'm really hoping 2.1 fixes these issues.

I'm up to five...I'm not sure if there's a limit.

I've got v.1, not jailbroken. I'm up to 2.0 and have the issues vegasflyby mentioned intermittently (safari crashes, keyboard lag, lagging contacts list, etc). For me, it's an occasional minor irritation. My phone had locked up in the past about a half dozen times but I was able to just reboot it without much problem. It hasn't happened since I quit playing Aurora Feint. Probably a coincidence, ya never know.
People have been having much more serious problems with their phone(s). Just look at some of the threads here, it's pretty harrowing. I'm not updating from 2.0 until 2.1 is out and has gotten good reviews. I'm not a beta tester and I don't have time to spend hours and hours restoring my phone and FedExing it to get it replaced multiple times. Apple needs to get back on track.
Still love my iPhone. Want to keep it that way.
BTW, I'm on my 4th page of icons.

I upgraded from 1.1.4 to 2.0 (and jailbroke) a few weeks ago. Maybe it's just me but I have very little trouble with my phone. On the rare occassion that it does hang all it takes is a shutdown and restart and everything is working again. The apps and games that are available on Appstore are MUCH better than those that were available previously. I've had up to 9 pages full of apps/games so far (that's the limit).
All in all I'm very happy that I upgraded.
