Ok this has been ticking me off. My wife and I both have 16g phones, hers White mine black. Hers works just fine, fast, no lag, apps update no problem. My phone does not want to play nice. Laggy, apps crash, phone crashes and apps don't update right. When updating apps to the phone i always get an error message that they were not able to load. But... some will actually update and others wont no matter what I try. Both phones use the same computer and iTunes and run 2.0.2. Why does one work and the other doesn't??? Anyone, anyone. Thanks a bunch for any and all help!

A quick VIew of this forum will show you that a lot of the problems on the IPHONE are not consisitant from user to user. It could be so many things. With that said when you get the kind of problems your describing it could point back to a buggy app or the many bugs in the software. Also there are still some reported issues with windows vista in perticular the 64 bit version. As much as I hate to suggest it maybe you should do a full restore of the phone. Besided being a bit of a process, it has been know to fix problems like you report. I have learned a restore trick that seems to both expidite the process and Put a nice clean software version back on your phone. Go into settings, reset, erase all contents and settings. This way the phone is nuked at the phone. When you plug it into ITUNES you will be dealing with a virgin phone. Itunes will rebuild it from scratch. I have heard of people getting more stable phone restores this way versus using the full restore system in ITUNES.

Ouch. I was hoping to stay away from the full restore. Does anyone know if the full restore will erase contacts as well?

Yes your contacts will be toast, however when you are up and running again a simple sync with ITUENS will restore your contacts, providing you have them synced already
