Can't connect to any email servers this morning

Since this morning I can't conect to Exchange or Gmail on my 2G iPhone. I updated to the latest version of OS (2.02?) but haven't had any problems since this morning. Numerous iPhone reboots have not helped.

I am having same issue. I also can not connect to weather or open any web pages. It appears to be an Edge issue

I have had the same problem her in CT all day, it looks like its a ATT problem.

AT&T's wireless data service seems to be down in a major way, at least on the eastern half of the country. We're seeing problems with both Edge and 3G from places such as Boston, New York and St. Louis. It's primarily iPhone users pinging us on this, and in AT&T's forums, but we're guessing it's not just limited to them. How is it looking for you?

Update: We've just spoken to AT&T and they've told us they're "aware of the reports." We'll keep our ear to the ground and update as soon as we have more.

Looks like it's back up for me now.

I am ok in New York, but I have people tell me in the Mid Atlantic states and Chicago that they are having the same problem today. A re-boot (hold down home button and power button until you see white apple logo) may get you jump started back on the servers. If you are using 3g, MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!!!!!

I must have done about 3 hard resets and 5 normal ones this morning to no avail, but by 12:00 eastern time it was back up for me.
