I had it installed, and I uninstalled it immediately after seeing that it was able to charge you for every song you look up. I'm not willing to pay for a service like this when you can easily google a line in a song and find out what the song is anyway. Shazam just makes it more convenient.

Is it still free, or are the actually allowed to charge you?

Don't worry it's free. Shazam will not charge you for something that you didn't buy.

is this definite? i can see how it isn't possible for them to charge you but with technology today who knows.

Yeah just like all those crazy commercials about "to find your lover text hookmeup to 1010220 for the name of the love of your life. Its $9.99 a month but you dont give them any info but the charge ends up on ur phone bill

I use midomi, I think it has better features than shazam. I like how it gives you direct links to YouTube. Shazam doesn't.

shazam does what it does better than midomi
midomi has other features so if you would rather sing the song, be my guest

as for shazam charging iphone users:
it doesnt mention anything for charging us...only other mobiles (in the UK lol)
