Prepaid SIM to iPhone

I have a prepaid Cingular 64K smartchip SIM card in my unlocked Treo 600. could i buy a iPhone from Apple Store and simply use it with that SIM card or at least that account?

this has already been done most call it a partial unlock to use prepaid cards on the iphone, but if i recall only mac users benefit from the software to unlock the phone without itunes. i havent seen a windows tutorial done for it yet.
