Someone posted a way to send photos directly from the iPhone to a thread not too long ago. I've searched everything I can think of but can't find it. Does anyone recall the thread? It seems like Photobucket was involved in the process somehow.

I was just trying to figure this out as well...

I will help you guys.
1. Get a photobucket account
2. Post pic to photobucket. Photobucket gives you an email address to upload to. I have it on my iphone as one my contacts for easy uploading of iphone pics.
3. Copy the IMG code of the pic you want to post.
4. Click the image insert button (the photo icon thing)
5. Paste. There will be extra [IMG] around the link, so delete the extra one. (I have to on the Mac, at least).

If you dont us step four and just paste the [IMG] code to your message it should work just as well. That way you won't have to delete that extra [img] ;).
I have the photobucket app, I got from the App store (free) and it post directly to photobucket.com.

I do not have the photobucket app. With the app, do you not have to em the photo to photobucket?

With the app, you upload the photo, from your iphone, to photobucket (to your account) and there photobucket will provide the codes for your pic.

I appreciate the responses.
I may be remembering this incorrectly, but I thought someone had figured out a way to "stream" photos from Photobucket to a thread. I remember seeing it here on EIC. Seems like someone went to a convention or something and streamed photos back to a thread. I didn't think he/she was copying and pasting individual photos from Photobucket, but I could be wrong.
The more I think about it... the more I think that what I thought I remembered might not be possible (there's a tricky sentence).

yeah, how do you stream photobucket? If you find it, I'd like to know. :D

This was on a jailbroken phone if you are talking about what I am remembering...OJ was posting iphone photos from St Patty's day direct to here from his phone.

I never did figure out how he was "cutting and pasting" the image URLs into his post, though. Surely he wasn't typing them out in his condition!

I think iPhonetony knows how to do this also.

Why does a thread about the iPhone posted in an iPhone forum get moved from "general discussion" to "off topic"? What's that about?
What's the correct topic for "general discussion"?

General Discussion for topics related the iPhone, but not found in other forums. Any threads pertaining to the website are posted in/moved to Off Topic.

Wow, I've had that bookmarklet forever and I've never really tried it out. It works! You're right, it's a total pain in the ass, but it works! Very cool.... thanks, J

have we figured out a easier way to post pictures yet?

Unfortunately, this is the only way right now
1. Email photo to photobucket
2. Safari to photobucket account
3. Copy+Paste bookmarklet to copy the URL
4. Browse to thread on EIC
5. Copy+Paste bookmarklet to paste the URL
Maybe someday the iPhone's browser will support file upload to make life easier on us.

so I need to install the program that jvaldez mentioned since that is the only known copy and paste fix? With the photobucket app your photos are uploaded automaticly.

I have searched the forum and several threads and this is the closest I have come to finding an answer to my question. If this should have been posted in the 'How to Forum' I apologize. The question is probably so simple no one has asked it. So help an old geezer out and enlighten me. How do I up load a photo to a post on a thread from my PC. My photos are either in my picture folder or on my desktop. I have tried by clicking on the insert image icon above and played around with it to no avail. I have uploaded pictures to my profile so what the he** am I doing wrong or not doing? :frown:

1) Upload your pic to photobucket.com
2) Copy the IMG code for the picture you want
3) Paste the code into the reply box in the thread.

Monkeysrocks thanks but I was hoping to avoid having to use photobucket. Is there no way to do it without going through this convoluted process? Why can I upload a picture to my profile on the forum but cannot upload to a post on a thread?
Thanks again.

Just use the "Manage Attachments" option to directly upload an image form your computer.

Yancy, When I try this I get a number of jpg, bumps etc in a table but cannot get those uploaded as pictures in my post. Please provide a step by step since I am missing something. Thank you

After uploading your image file using the "Manage Attachment" option, click on the paperclip icon:
4654
A window will drop down revealing your files you uploaded:
4655
Select your image files. The image files will be added to the text body and will look like: file number. If you click on preview post, you will see your image in the text body. If you're satisfied, click on submit reply.
Just remember you have to stay within the image dimensions for each file type you uploaded or it will just hang on the uploading message. The image dimension constraints are listed below the browse upload fields when you click on the manage attachments.
