Where I work we have two servers that we can connect with for exchange.
On my Blackjack 2 I was using webmail.companyname.com and never had battery issues or 3G issues. For whatever reason it wouldn't let me use the exchange.companyname.com.
When I got the 3g Iphone a friend of mine said that webmail didn't work so I have been using the exchange server.
Well last night I decdided to see for myself. Well.. it connected and works.
Today I was heading out to lunch and thought I would see how the battery was. Was showing probably 90% after nearly 6 hours with push on and gps off while on 3g. Here is the kicker. My standby and usage times were identical.
When on the exchange server by the end of the day I would have like 9 hours standby and 7 to 8 hours of usage and around 30% battery life.
So if I understand this right my phone hasn't lost it's connection to my server since unplugging my charger. Hence fewer attempts to reconnect.
So the exchange one is either configured differently or something since I was not showing the same amount of time for standby and usage. It must have been trying harder to stay connected.
I asked one of my coworkers and he said the webmail.companyname.com was on a linux server connected to the main exchange server:gasp:
So I thought I would ask if I am understanding this right plus some of you out there in other companies might have more that one server name you can use.
I was originally thinking the usage should be very low but seeing how the battery is still going strong maybe that part doesn't matter as I originally thought.
