Facebook Application iphone 3g

i got the facebook application on my iphone 3g but when in facebook i want to chat to my friends online but when i send a message it always say "Error Your message could not be delivered at this time. Please try again later." i have taken the application off before and reinstalled it but i still get the same thing for the chat. So if any one know what i could do please help me

Either something was wrong with your internet at the time. Or the person you were talking to is no longer online. And sometimes Facebook just has hiccups.

I don't think you can do much.
